Are you a qualified nurse who would like the opportunity to become a leader within Community services in Surrey?

Urinary incontinence can restrict employment, educational and leisure opportunities, and lead to social embarrassment and isolation, affecting both physical and mental health. It is vital that people who are incontinent are given every opportunity to regain their continence. High quality comprehensive continence services are an essential part of health care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Continence Nurse to join a well established and successful Continence Promotion & Treatment Service in Surrey. The team provides the people of East Surrey with continence needs access to specialist nursing skills, multidisciplinary care planning and care interventions with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and quality of life.

The team works closely with consultants Urologists and Urogynaecologist, GP partners, hospital based continence services and community nursing services.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 nurse who has experience within an acute, community or specialist background. It is an opportunity to be part of a fantastic team and not only deliver the highest standard in quality of care, but lead on innovation, improvement and the growth of this very important service.
The post holder will provide a high level of clinical assessment, individualised care planning, expert health advice, extended intervention case management and rigorous evaluation. You will also be expected to contribute to national and locally agreed targets and to ongoing clinical quality audit.
A working knowledge of long term conditions, physical examination skills and independent non-medical prescribing would be an advantage, however training can be provided to candidates who are willing to develop within the role.
