Job Role

Our Client has a fantastic opportunity for staff who have completed their basic rotations who are looking to expand their knowledge in frailty/ older persons rehabilitation.

The Trust are members of the Acute Frailty Network this year and are making significant improvements in the care delivered to older people. This includes the opening of a short stay frailty unit. There will also be opportunities for working more closely with community services as the Trust have secured the community contract alongside ProCare from April 2018

The post will cover the frailty unit and the older persons rehabilitation wards. A suitable candidate would have a quick turnaround and quick assessment mentality working alongside members of the acute frailty and older peoples team to manage early discharge and risk in this patient group.

The older persons rehabilitation team work on a rostered system across 6 days with a likely expansion across 7 days in the near future. The Physiotherapists do joint assessments and have joint skills with our Occupational Therapy colleagues as well as a Generic Practitioner

Our client prides ourselves in supporting staff with good team and department structures and morale. You will be supported by your peers, Team Leaders and Clinical Specialists across all areas. We also have superb working relationships with our Consultants and Ward Teams.

Their clinical staff are involved in Trust level clinical and nonclinical projects and have opportunities to drive service development, audit and evidence-based practice. The Trust is a member of the Acute Frailty Network and as such is transforming the pathway for this group of patients.

The Perfect Candidate

  • You will require previous acute NHS experience as well as experience of physiotherapy in patients with comorbities and complex needs such as dementia.
  • You will need to be HCPC Registered
  • You will need a minimum of a degree within Physiotherapy
  • You will need to be a member of CPS
