THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager with either experience working with children in a Residential Home, Residential School or Adult Learning Disability Home.
You will need to hold or studying for Level 5 Diploma in Management or Leadership.
You will be responsible for a small home or unit which is part of a specialist mixed gender residential school for students aged 7-19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum.
Students can be resident for 38 or 52-week placements. In establishments that cater for 38 weeks a year a Care Manager may operate in all residential groups, assisting the Head of Care to maintain high standards of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring high standards are maintained in the following areas ensuring conformity within Group Expectations and National Care Standards:
” Staffing
” Resources
” Delegated budgets
” Fabric of the buildings
” Health and Welfare of residents
Creating, monitoring and evaluating implementation of individual care and activity plans for the residents.
Lead manage, supervise and support the Team Managers and team of care staff through line management and role-modelling.
Develop the establishment by planning, monitoring, evaluating, reviewing and implementing policies and working procedures.

Shift Pattern:
The shift pattern will involve a mixture of early, late and weekend shifts and is done on a 3-week rolling period. This can be explained in more detail on application for the position.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
” Have a minimum of 2 years management or supervisory experience in a care setting
” Have experience of working with children or adults with learning disabilities
” Have experience of the NVQ assessment process
” Have experience of managing others
” Have experience of delivering good quality training and coaching
” Be enthusiastic, committed and flexible
” Be resilient
” Be able to work shifts on a rota pattern
” Have excellent communication skills
” Be able to lead and work as part of a team

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
” Have a full UK driving licence
” NVQ level 4
” Registered Managers Award
