THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Deputy Head teacher for a CAMHS hospital in Staffordshire for young people with mental health needs such as eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia; other complex mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder and self-harm.
The Deputy Head would stand in for the Head Teacher and deputise for the Head Teacher when requested or in the Head Teachers absence.
The primary role for the deputy head teacher will be the responsibility for the year 12/13 pupils.
Ofsted has identified this as an area which requires improvement and will help my client gain an outstanding rating.
It will be the Deputy Head Teachers responsibility to identify and engage those students who are either about to join or are in the sixth form. They will be responsible for the fostering of learning and participation in school work for this group. You may need to support and work closely with link teachers in the communication with schools and colleges as well as the young people and parents.
This role has responsibility for the programme of study for each year 12/13 pupil. This includes resources and the maintenance of those resources for sixth form students. It will be the deputy Heads task to liaise with the Head Teacher in producing a workable time table which will cater for this older age group. Also, to monitor, record and collate performance data for this group from the Link and subject teachers.
Part of this role will be to monitor and report to the senior leadership team the quality of tracking data and comments regarding all our students. We would expect the candidate for this role will have demonstrated excellent skills in marking, reporting and monitoring of students work.
We may also require the Deputy Head to become involved in the administration and delivery of exams.
The Deputy Head Teacher may also be asked to chair staff meeting and deliver training. This may be at Inset days or staff meetings.
We may ask you to also be the deputy safeguard lead.
The role may also involve the organisation and supervision of school trips.
Due to the nature of our schools, this is a post that runs alongside existing job roles.
This is not an exhaustive list and you may be asked to help or take on other responsibilities as and when necessary to ensure the effective running of the department.

At Healthier Recruitment, we are dedicated in finding our candidates their ideal roles. We go above and beyond the basic requirements of our candidates to find roles that not only match their overall package expectations but provide them with an opportunity to secure a position that offers personal fulfilment and the potential to develop within an organisation that shares similar visions and values.
