THE ROLE:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced Deputy Head to work in an SEMH school with children aged 8-18.
As the deputy you will work in close liaison with The Head of School to assist in the education and operational performance of the school, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and ISS standards, quality indicators and inspection report recommendations. The successful candidate will ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are fully met and monitored and that learning strategies in place are relevant and best meet the needs of our learners.
You will be involved, with the Head of School, in developing the School Development Plan, then taking a strategic role in implementing and taking responsibility for the initiatives identified.
You will be focusing on specific strategic focuses within the school:
– Teaching, Learning and Curriculum
– Personal Development, Behaviour, Nurture and Therapy

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

” Be a fully qualified teacher ideally with some experience of working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
” Have a proven record of developing strategies for improving progress and achievement across the school.
” Have an understanding of the current legislation and statutory regulations relating to educational and care.
” Have detailed knowledge of the National Curriculum.
” Be passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
” Be able to demonstrate excellent skills in planning and reporting across the curriculum for children aged 8-18 years old.
” Have excellent interpersonal skills
” Be highly organised and adaptable
” Be committed to working in partnership with parents and outside agencies
