THE ORGANISATION:

Our client offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living.

This is a secure 86 bed mental health hospital that provides a comprehensive psychological assessment and therapy programme across its four secure wards. Their psychologists are trained in a variety of psychological assessments and therapeutic models, allowing them to offer a personalised package of assessment and therapies to service users.

Offering specialist diagnostic assessments for Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ADOS) and Personality Disorders (IPDE and PCL-R). The therapies offered include Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Substance Misuse Programme, Fire Setting Intervention Programme for Mentally Disordered Offenders (FIP-MO) and Sex Offender Treatment Programme for Mentally Disordered Offenders (SOTP-MO). The psychology team offers a range of individual therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural and Cognitive Analytical Therapy, Schema focused and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate, caring and want to make a difference to people’s lives. You will assist the devoted nursing team, playing an important role in the daily routine of the service users.

Working as an active member of our clients’ dynamic MDT, you’ll provide support for their nursing staff including the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, with a focus on dignity and safety at all times.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

You will be dedicated, caring and passionate about helping people; having a real interest in improving the lives of others.

Whilst an NVQ level 1 or 2 in a relevant care setting is preferable, it isn’t a necessity. A good level of literacy and numeracy skills will be necessary, but also a drive to develop your knowledge and skills to ensure you are constantly providing the best quality care for services users and a high-level knowledge base / support system to your team. Whilst also being able to demonstrate the ability to effectively deal with a range of challenging situations, bringing with you a strong mental aptitude meeting the demands of the role.

They’ll give you the training you need to start helping people straight away. Yes, it can be a challenge working with people who have mental health problems. But you can make a real difference on their road to recovery. It’s hugely rewarding.
