We have a range of positions available, dependant on experience.

The Occupational Therapy roles we have available provide an opportunity to develop holistic cognitive & functional assessment in an Acute, Community & / or Home environment

The role will also involve:

  • To perform assessment, and treatment of patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, as well as a variety of communication problems such as deafness, dysphasia, or confusion.
  • To communicate effectively with MDT members, service user and voluntary agencies
  • To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working with supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior Occupational therapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.


The essential qualities we are looking for in our Occupational Therapist applicants are:

  • To have gained effective experience of rehabilitation, elderly care, from student placements and/or previous recent experience as a band 19 (band 5)
  • To have competent IT skills
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of NHS systems and processes,
  • Ability to supervise students effectively when required
  • Knowledge of professional and organisational standards related to the role
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in all settings e.g. lone working in the community etc.
  • To have thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory and best practice
  • To have had experience in community and acute settings
  • To be competent in performing assessments: moving and handling, activity analysis, ADL equipment and devising treatment plans with a variety of presenting conditions
  • Registered with HCPC
  • The post holder must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a car for community-based roles
