Our client is a mental health service provider, specifically the site is a 36 bed hospital specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for men. It provides state-of-the-art facilities and a multi-disciplinary treatment programme designed to assist service users with their return to independent living.

The site is made up of two units and has dedicated occupational therapy space in both, including a gymnasium, music room, specialist arts and crafts rooms, library and internet cafe. It also has three dedicated therapy kitchens to help with the development of service users’ daily living skills.

Service user profile: Men only, mental health, complex mental health needs; challenging behaviours, forensic history, substance, drug and alcohol misuse. Typical diagnoses inc, schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder or depression.


  • Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual programs of care. With a focus on risk assessment and risk management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner
  • Report any ill health amongst Residents and make requests for R.M.O/GP/Professional visits where necessary
  • Support empowerment of Residents having regard for their dignity rights whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care
  • Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Residents, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines
  • Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.


You will be dedicated, caring and passionate about helping people; having a real interest in improving the lives of others. As well as have the sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied lifestyle for the residents.

  • Newly Qualified or Experienced RMN / RNLD with a current Pin Number
  • Have knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983
  • Have an understanding of the latest nursing practices
  • Have the ability to deputise in a clinical lead role
  • Have the capacity to maintain documentation and undertake audits.
