We are seeking a senior RMN with eating disorder experience to work as a Ward Manager within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) near Telford.

In this role you will be responsible for the nursing leadership and management of the Ward and for the supervision and leadership of the nursing staff, providing an environment where the quality of care is delivered confidently and consistently to a high standard, ensuring all quality standards are met.


  • To be a highly visible and supportive presence on the ward by providing strong clinical leadership, positive role modelling, and have the ability to positively influence the team, hospital culture and clinical practice
  • Provide advice and support from a nursing perspective and oversee and hold responsibility for the ward environment and its resources.
  • To demonstrate initiative and proactive approaches in the management of their staff by ensuring effective skill mix and nursing skills is in situ including effective rota management, annual leave and training
  • To clinically lead, and motivate the nurses and support workers in providing high quality patient assessment, care planning, treatment, and interventions
  • To coach, develop, and mentor staff in achieving and exceeding their individual competency levels through the delivery of effective systems of supervision and appraisal, and ensure comprehensive supervision and appraisal records are kept
  • To manage the staff effectively, ensuring all required standards of individual performance are met in a fair and consistent manner
  • Disseminate, implement and monitor compliance with relevant policies and statutory requirements.
  • To ensure that quality standards relating to patient experience, patient safety, assessment and treatment, and clinical effectiveness are achieved and maintained
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of staff on the wards
  • Ensure clinical communication, handovers, clinical documentation is recorded accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure the physical health needs are addressed promptly for patients
  • To fulfil First Tier On-Call duties and responsibilities as required
  • To be an integral member of the hospitals Integrated Governance program


  • Be a Registered RMN with current NMC pin.
  • Be a senior RMN with eating disorder experience.
  • Have a person centred ethos, showing empathy and a desire to make a difference
  • Have a proven ability to lead and manage a team
  • Be able to demonstrate initiative and creativity
  • Be flexible and adaptable, well organised and able to manage time and workload effectively
