Our client is a renowned provider of Specialist adult care in the UK. Their aim is to support adults over the age of 18 with Dementia, Autism, learning difficulties, Prader Willi Syndrome or mental health conditions to lead fulfilled lives, and achieve the best outcomes regardless of age or presumed ability.

Their goal is quite simple, with over 200 care homes as well as network of supported living services they look to meet the social, physical and emotional needs of all the people they support.

Due to continued expansion; we’re currently looking for a Service Manager in Swindon, where our clients’ bespoke specialist autism service caters for up-to seven individuals with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs.

The support provided enables each individual to engage and progress at their own level within a living and learning environment that is all about enriching individual lives and helping everyone to achieve their full potential.


The key to this role will be being dedicated to undertaking the management of supporting people with complex needs including but not limited to Autism and associated complications.

To facilitate this, you will follow guidance on how best to provide support during different activities throughout the day and proactively contribute to the individual support plans we have in pace for each individual.

You’ll be committed to effectively lead and inspire your team to ensure the provision of the highest quality care and person-Centered support.

Naturally; you’ll understand what ‘good care’ looks like, be able to articulate and promote this; and be responsible for not only developing the service, but to deliver best practice in social care.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To keep students safe
  • Implement the Waking Day Curriculum for young people
  • Support the maintenance of a safe, homely environment
  • Understand and comply with regulatory standards
  • Promote and encourage independence at all times
  • Liaison with parents, guardians and colleagues
  • As appropriate, attend meetings and contribute towards planning around the young person


Ultimately, our client is looking for a professional and highly effective service manager to be part of a brand-new team who will shape the service from the very beginning and make it a flagship service in Swindon.

You will be dedicated and passionate about helping people and have a real interest in improving the lives of others.

  • Previous managerial experience in a similar environment
  • Registered with the CQC with specific experience of managing autism support
  • Experience of a range of approaches to managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Fine-tuned decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility and a string “can do” attitude.
